EasyVFR 3.97 available

Hi there!

Just before the Christmas holidays we released version 3.97 of EasyVFR, with some nifty new features and improvements. Scroll down to find out all about it!

Our first user meet a few weeks ago was a fantastic success, so much that we have decided

to make it a regular thing! Mark March 2nd, 2018 in your agenda!

SyncSlider™

Our new SyncSlider makes it very easy to locate issues on the Vertical Profile on the 2D map. Do you see an obstacle or airspace in the VP that might cause a problem?

Scroll the yellow SyncSlider towards it and see the same slider move along your route on the map, and find out where exactly this big tower is!

Density Altitude

We already had basic DA calculations as part of EasyVFR, but thanks to one of our valued users we have improved them. Now not only temp and pressure but also actual dew point are part of the calculation. Download the weather and then tab an airport. If the weather data was downloaded recently and completely, the actual Density Altitude will be shown!

EFB Refinements

We have made massive improvements in file handling in our Electronic Flight Bag. Charts should now download much faster. This was requested by many users and we are proud to deliver a better EasyVFR as a result of your input!

Full Change log:


●	NEW: The Vertical Profile View (VPV) now has a slider at the ruler (the 'SyncSlider') that can be moved left/right. When this is done, a marker on the moving map (the 'SyncMarker') is shown so it is very easy to find a corresponding location from the VPV on the 2D map.
●	NEW: Improved Density Altitude Awareness: Provided recent METARs were downloaded, the ICW and TripKit will display a calculated Density Altitude for airfields.
●	NEW: A new NOTAM filter is introduced to filter out NOTAMs with a lower limit higher than a specific altitude.
●	NEW: All items on the EFB tab can now be directly shared with other apps and devices using the built-in operating-system specific sharing capabilities. This is particularly handy for exported breadcrumbs (KML) files.
●	NEW: Windows version now also offers 'Open in ...' for TripKit PDFs on the FP tab.
●	NEW: Exported flight plans can now be shared with any app using the platform 'Open in..' functionality.
●	IMPROVED: Changed size of wind barbs and EurWX symbols so they are not so massive anymore on Windows.
●	IMPROVED: When doing a straight-in to a runway which elevation is unknown, the vertical guidance will use the airfield elevation as target altitude.
●	IMPROVED: TAF color decoding.
●	IMPROVED: When pinch-zooming on iOS or Android, the slide-to-zoom icon on the right hand side of the moving map remains for 2.5 seconds to (hopefully) have users who don't know yet understand this can be used for zooming too.
●	IMPROVED: When the ICW was showing WX data and a new WX download was initialized the ICW would 'collapse' momentary and show no WX data at all anymore.
●	IMPROVED: The VPV now shows the same icon for airfields as used on the moving map.
●	IMPROVED: EFB document downloads, specially when the existing local EFB already contains a lot of documents.
●	And many more fixes!
