Dear Pilot,

Just a quick note on this fine, almost summer's day! We're finalizing an update for EasyVFR, which will most likely appear somewhere next week for most platforms. Some more optical enhancements were made, but also a more convenient way of overlaying approach plates has been implemented. Plus a number of under-the-hood changes . . You'll be pleased!

- A free version of AirspaceAVOID for the Netherlands!

  NL AirspaceAVOID logo.Netherlands AirspaceAVOID Partners.

In an effort to reduce the number of airspace infringements and in cooperation with:

we have been able to release a 100% free of charge version of AirspaceAVOID, limited to the Netherlands airspace. It's available for iOS and Android.

This version also includes our renowned NOTAM system!

By supporting this release, the Netherlands now joins ranks with the UK and Finland to embrace high-quality tablet-based air navigation. A free, NATS supported version of AirspaceAVOID for the UK is already available since 2013, and last year AOPA Finland decided to distribute full EasyVFR licences amongst their members. Great initiatives that will lead to safer skies for all!

- Server park upgrade in progress.

Over the next few months we'll be upgrading and renewing our server park. During this period you may occasionally encounter a brief connection issue now and then, but once we're all done you can rest assured your EasyVFR is communicating with state of the art equipment!

These servers generate the maps for EasyVFR, maintain your licence information, they compute the AeroData, feed your EasyVFR with NOTAMs, help you get approach plates and weather . . They do a lot of work for you!

- And there's our annual fly-in!

For over a decade already we've had our annual PocketFMS fly-in somewhere in Europe. We've seen Sweden, the UK, Italy, Belgium, France, Norway . . and this year it's going to be Germany! Altas Airfield (EDWQ), near Bremen is a beautiful airfield with AVGas, MOGAS and Jet A1, nice locations in the area and interesting day-trip destinations (25 minutes flying to Wangerooge island airport, 45 minutes to Helgoland island airport to just name two). The website for Atlas Airfield can be found here.
The Atlas Airfield restaurant. With great facilities like a nice restaurant and 835 meters of hard runway, it's once again a great place to visit. The German beer and food are famous in itself, and we'll throw a complimentary barbecue on the Saturday evening for all visiting pilots and their pax!
  Line-up of a previous PocketFMS fly-in.

Making a hotel reservation is smart, but you can sleep in 'tent village' as well - that's under the wing of your own airplane! For more details & questions on the fly-in, please visit our forum. Meanwhile, mark this weekend in your calendar & get your plane ready!

Atlas Airfield (EDWQ), 19JUN-21JUN2015!

See you there!
